Windmill Winter Wonderland To Celebrate 14th Year

KENDALLVILLE – Windmill Winter Wonderland – a Christmas tradition in Kendallville at the Mid-America Windmill Museum will be lighting the skies with glowing lights for the 14th year in a row.  My how time flies and how this event has grown.

This event couldn’t happen without the 600 plus volunteer man hours it takes just to set this show-up.  This doesn’t include all the preparation time it takes to get ready for everything to be set up.  When it’s all said and done approximately 20 acres are illuminated with more than 75,000 lights with many displays (some arranged according to themes) providing a memorable Christmas panorama.

Two new displays will be added to the rolling terrain of the Mid-America Windmill Museum at 732 S. Allen Chapel Road (C.R. 1000E).  The Tom Crist family donated a Chris-Craft speedboat with Santa waving from the driver’s seat and shooting a rooster tail of water out the back.  The second display is donated by Shepherd’ Chevrolet – Buick – GMC and is a Chevy pick-up truck with Santa waving to all with a Christmas tree in the bed of the truck.  Wonderful and fun additions to our ever-growing Christmas show.

The excitement carries on into Baker Hall as it is decked out in its own festive décor.  Inside will be crafters, warm food and our younger visitors will be greeted by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.  He will have a gift bag for each child under eleven years of age and a special gift for toddlers.  Each child under eleven years also can sign up for one of three bicycles to be given away.

Our friends from Independent Full Gospel Church in Ashley, Indiana will again be presenting their very moving rendition of the Live Nativity.  They will be having a drawing in Baker Hall for a beautiful Bible and a gift certificate for $100 from Walmart and a gift certificate from Kroger’s for $100.

Mark your Calendar for December 1, 2, 3, and December 8, 9, and 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for your chance to see our Windmill Winter Wonderland.  The Live Nativity will only be on Saturday night December 2nd and December 9th.

Entry is $4.00 per person, FREE for children under 12 years.  Hope you can visit and enjoy this festive event.
