Town of Avilla looking to improve phone system

AVILLA – With inspiration from the phone service being out of order, at Wednesday (February 21st) evening’s Avilla Town Council meeting, the issue was addressed that it is time to make some improvements to better serve the employees at the Town Hall and its customers with new equipment.  It was concluded that the current telephone system is in need of an upgrade to be cost-effective and efficient.

Avilla’s Clerk-Treasurer, Rita Grocock, said that in doing research, she found that switching providers to Mediacom for the Town Hall’s internet and telephone services, which includes the Town Hall, Fire Department, Police Department and Utilities Department, will save over $3600 annually.  The Town Council is reviewing the data and a decision will be made at a later date.
