Couple arrested on gun and drug charges

LAGRANGE COUNTY – A husband and wife from Fort Wayne, who were traveling with their three young children on the Indiana Toll Road yesterday night were arrested after they were allegedly found in possession of more than 100 grams of marijuana and a handgun for which neither had a permit.

According to Trooper Zarek Finley, at approximately 10:15 p.m., he observed an eastbound Chevrolet Tahoe with an equipment violation near the 119.7 mile marker, about one mile west of the Howe exit. Upon stopping the vehicle, Finley initiated conversation with the driver, 39 year old Adam W. Swygart

Finley smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A loaded .38 caliber revolver was located in the glove box which allegedly belonged to the passenger, 37 year old Heather P. Swygart.
