KENDALLVILLE – The Main Street group, Experience The Heart of Kendallville, has contracted with a grant writer to assist them in applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) which they have applied for multiple times.
The improvements, once a grant is received, will be the sidewalks, lights, benches, bike racks, trash receptacles, replace some trees, bury electric lines, and ADA ramps on Main Street from Rush Street north to the alley before the railroad tracks.
The grant writer they have contracted with is Shannon McLeod of Priority Project Resources, Inc. in Greensburg, Indiana. The engineering for the project is being done by Jones Petrie Rafinski (JPR) in Fort Wayne. The application must be submitted to OCRA by 4:00 p.m. on May 3rd for the next round of grants.
