FREMONT – The Indiana State Police is investigating a single vehicle crash which occurred last evening on County Road 450 W, which claimed the life of a 27-year-old man from Fremont.

Preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Sergeant Matt Lazoff indicates at approximately 7:00 p.m., a 2006 Buell motorcycle operated by 27-year-old Eric P. Corcimiglia of Fremont was traveling southbound on County Road 450 W, just north of Lane 101, Lake Pleasant.  

Evidence indicates Corcimiglia failed to negotiate the curve, and as such, he left the west side of the roadway and struck a tree.  Although he was wearing a helmet, Corcimiglia suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Steuben County Coroner’s Office.  Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor at this time.

Lazoff was assisted at the scene by the Steuben County Sheriff Department, Fremont Fire Department, Steuben County EMS and the Steuben County Coroner’s Office.
